These are the first of my photos from my trip to Matsushima. The trip started from Tokyo station on board an early morning Tohoku shinkansen. The ride was relatively quick – about 2 hours for the 300 km to Sendai. From Sendai, a local train took another 40 minutes to get to Matsushima. A short walk from the Matsushimakaigan station is the Zuiganji temple. After about an hour and half wandering around the grounds and taking photos, I walked around town and headed to the harbour and took photos of the Godaido hall. Closeby was the tour boat operator, and photos from the tour will be up next.
